About Reflexology London

My Journey

Hi, my name is Michelle and I am a Clinical Reflexologist based in East London. Having spent 12 years in the fashion industry as a footwear buyer I experienced first-hand the physical and emotional effects that long term stress can have on the body, and I was forced to make a career change for my health. While looking for a holistic approach to wellness I discovered complementary therapies which (in keeping with the theme of feet!) led to a journey that is now known as BalanceYou Reflexology.

Qualifications

Michelle holds a Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology (CRM5). This is the highest reflexology qualification available in the UK and one which is recognised by the NHS and major insurance companies. As a Level 5 Clinical Reflexologist she has completed specialist training in the following:
  • Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology (Level 4)
  • Enhancing Fertility and Maternity Care Reflexology
  • Adapting Reflexology for Palliative Care and Cancer
  • Auricular (Ear) Reflexology
  • Hand Reflexology
  • NEPIP (NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody)

Memberships

Michelle is a registered full member of the:

Association of Reflexologists (AoR) – the foremost representative and professional body for reflexology in the UK. It promotes the highest standard of code of practice and ethics in the profession.

Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) – provide an independent UK register of complementary healthcare practitioners. All CNHC members are professionally trained, fully insured and are bound to uphold high standards of practice.

CNHC registration is recognised for reimbursement with a number of health cash plan providers. This means that clients who are members of the relevant plans can claim for the cost of the treatments when they visit CNHC registered complementary therapists. The General Medical Council guidance states that doctors are able to refer patients on Accredited Registers which includes everyone registered with the CNHC. The Department of Health has recommended that when people are looking for complementary health practitioners they use someone who is registered with the CNHC.

Insurance

Michelle is fully insured to practice as a Clinical Reflexologist through the Alan Boswell Group.
