Is it for me?
Reflexology can be enjoyed by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between. It can be used as a preventative therapy to mitigate the effects of stress and maintain good health and wellbeing, or be used to help cope with a chronic illness or an acute condition. Clients come to me with all sorts of complaints and for many different reasons. As well as treatments for general health I have also received specialist training in areas where reflexology can be particularly beneficial. These include reflexology for stress, for palliative care, during pregnancy and to aid fertility.
There are some conditions and circumstances where reflexology is not recommended. These include contagious diseases, an unstable heart condition, DVT/thrombosis and imminent hormone related medical tests.
Does it work?
Reflexology is a very individual treatment which is tailored to the whole person, taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting wellbeing. As such, its benefits can vary according to each person. However, many people find that following a treatment they feel very relaxed and less stressed, they sleep better and their overall sense of wellbeing and mood improves.
